GIRL DROWNS IN RIVER

A 23 year old girl went to fetch water from a river was drowned.

Deceased Pramila who went to fetch water from a near by river at Napoklu got drowned, according to police. Though the incident occurred day before yesterday, the body was traced today.

GOONS CHOP OFF HAND

In a gory incident of hooliganism, a weapon totting group of youths chopped off the hand of a youth at Beetikatte near Somwarpet.

The accused led by S.N.Protvi brutally attacked a student and the son of a head master – K.S.Pritvi in front of a club on the night of 8th. K.S.Pritvi was pulled out of his Maruthi van and his left hand was chopped off. The hooligans played foot ball with the chopped piece of hand from the wrist, onlookers said. However, using presence of mind, the wounded boy rushed to a neighbours house, holding the seperated hand with the right hand. As the house happened to be of a nurse, she covered it with ice cubes and sent it to hospital along with the wounded. He was immediately shifted to Bangalore. The sources from Bangalore today told that the hand was successfully joined in the private hospital.
