LABOUR COURTS TO ALL DISTRICTS

 

Minister for Labour and Haj, Mr.Tanveer Sait today said that the government is hoping to appoint judges for Labour courts in all district centers.

 

Addressing the scribes here after holding meeting with the officials, he said that though the districts have court buildings, only one judge functions in five districts. He said that appointment of new judges would reduce the number of pending cases. Continuing he said that 23 cases of child labour was found in the district. Out of them, one owner was fined while 22 other cases are in High Court. He mentioned that  taking over of two rubber estates in the district by the government has left many labourers jobless as the cases are referred to courts. He assured that they would be compensated suitably after the cases are settled in court.

 

 

OFFICER INSPECTS CITE FOR SAINIK SCHOOL;

 

Principal of Bijapur Sainik school, Col. K.K.Nani yesterday inspected two spots in Kodagu to decide on Zainik Board.

 

Talking to this correspondent, he said that he is directed by the state government with the consent of the ministry of defense to submitt a feasibility report. He said that he has visited two spots, one at Bettadalli near Somwarpet and Dodda Aluvara near Kushalnagar. He stated that state secretary and other concerned officials will also inspect the spot during next week.

 

A 300 capacity S`ainik School is sanctioned for  Kodagu by the state government. According to Col Sunny, Karnataka is the second state after Bihar to have a second Sainik School in the Country. India has around 20 schools in existence with a capacity between five to six hundred students each. The students from standard six or nine can be enrolled into Sainik School. The syllabus here is CBSC.

 

While the Principal, Head Master, Registrar and Physical directors would be army officials with a grade of Colonel, Captain and Brigadier, civilians would be appointed for other posts.

 

 

MOTHER, DAUGHTER SUCCUMBS

 

Mrs Susheela aged 45 and her daughter Manjula, 18 died yesterday at their locked house due to loss of oxygen.

 

According to police, the duo slept inside the closed house by keeping burning charcoal to keep the house warm and died to loss of oxygen. The incident occured at Madapur.
