CALL TO STRENGTHEN NATION

 

Deputy Commissioner Mr.Sreekanth Valgadh yesterday called upon the citizens to strengthen the Nation.

 

He was speaking after hoisting the National flag in the Fort building here. Continuing he stressed the need to remember the deeds of our elders who fought for freedom and said that it is the duty of every citizen to remember the values of freedom. He said that rulers are the Kings and bureaucrats are the servants of the society in the system of  Democracy. The DC honored couple of students for their achievements and distributed prizes to the

Winners of various competitions.

 

MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah, CEO Mr.Budihal, ZP chairperson Mrs.Chitra Ramesh were present.

 

 

DEMOCRACY HAS ITS BANE

 

While democracy is a boon in many ways, it also has banes in its own way, said MLC Arun Machaiah.

 

Hoisting the National Flag yesterday at Kushalnagar, he said that while the country has seen many developments after independence, the democracy has also given birth to many problems.

Independence day was colourfully celebrated at Kushalnagar. MLC Mr.B.A.Hasanabba, chairman of sewage board Mrs.K.P>Chandrakala , ZP member Mr.V.P.Shashidar was also present.

 

 

KUMARSWAMY CONDUCTS POOJA AT TALACAUVERY

 

MLA and son of former prime minister Mr.H.D.Devegowda today performed special poojas at Talacauvery and Bhagamandala.

 

Mr.Kumarswamy arrived at Talacauvery along with nine other MLAs from Mandya and Mysore. The group of MLAs dared the lashing rains and did pooja at both the places and let ‘Baagina’, into the confluence of three rivers at Bhagamandala.

 

Later addressing the scribes, Mr.Kumarswamy said that the pooja was performed as the state could avoid confrontation with Tamilnadu  and Andra due to sufficient rainfall. They said that the state suffered a set back the previous year due to drought situation.

 

 

 

COBRA GUARDS TEMPLE?

 

A cobra was noticed on the steps leading to Brahmagiri hills today adjacent to temple at Talacauvery. The group of MLAs had a shock of life as the cobra opened its hood at their sight.

 

A localite said that the Cobra is being seen at the same spot since about four days. Now rumours are rife about the existence of Cobra in the temple surrounding as they are considered holy. Their appearance would be considered as a sign of both good and bad, that will happen in future.
