KUMARSWAMY FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS OF KODAGU
Ramnagar MLA Mr.H.D.Kumarswamy yesterday opined that the JDs
is committed to strive for the development of the district. Adressing scribes after performing pooja at Talacauvery and
Bhagamandala he said that Mr.H.D.Devegaowda is taking a coffee delegation to
Delhi to find a permanent solution to the crumbling industry. He also said that
pressure will be put on CM and DCM to release flood relief funds immediately to
the battered district which has witnessed worst rainfall after a gap of a
decade. Mr.Kumarswamy agreed that the leaders of JDs in the district
had ignored the villagers and met with defeat in the recent elections. Though
they lack elected representatives here, JDs will strive to develop Kodagu, he
said. He also remarked that the central Government had earlier turned a deaf
ear to the problems of coffee growers and three ministers paid a visit to the
district as an eye wash. STUDENTS TAKE TO STREETS
The students of Cauvery women’s college, Virajpet took to
street protesting against the shortage of teaching staff. The protestors including their parents alleged that the
management is ignoring their demand to appoint science lecturer. They also said
that the science lab also lacks proper equipments. CPT. GANAPATHY AS PRESIDENT
Captain Ganapathy is reelected as the president of Kodava
Samaj, Madikeri. According to a communiqué, Cpt. Ganapathy is being re elected as the president for the fourth time.Mr.P.P.Pemmaiah has become the secretary, Mr.P.Muthappa has become the joint secretary and nine others are elected as directors in the recently held election. |
