ROSEWOOD WORTH TEN LAKH SEIZED

 

Kerala forest sleuths have seized rose wood worth rupees ten lakh in the Kodagu - Kerala border.

 

A Kerala registered lorry was blocked at Mandalpatti gate by the sleuths who discovered rosewood logs hidden under a load of plantain bunches. The driver and cleaner of the lorry reportedly escaped under the cover of darkness. The lorry carrying rosewood was allowed from the Kodagu gate and was stopped at the next, Kerala gate.

 

Border guards of Kodagu are expected to undergo inquiry.

 

 

DAUGTER KILLS FATHER

 

In a bizarre incident, a daughter has done to death her father at Besgur in south Kodagu.

According to police Dharmavathi brutally attacked her father Babu   yesterday and killed him on the spot.

 

It is suspected that the deceased attempted to molest his own daughter and got killed in a furious situation. Dharmavathi surrendered before the Ponnampet police late yesterday and confessed the crime. The neighbors of the accused alleged that they often observed that the father and the daughter used to fight and shout at high pitch. Dharmavathi who was married had left her husband and was living with her father since a year or so.

 

 

LABOURER MURDERED

 

A dead body of a labourer was recovered from a estate line house yesterday.

 

According to police the labourer was murdered and huddled inside a small locked room, two days ago. The incident was reported near Gonicoppal. Police said that the labourer was probably murdered by his associates who are absconding.

 

An axe, a hammer, clubs, arrack sachets and cigars were found near the dead body with blood stains. The deceased had joined the estate as a daily wager along with two others.Their identity is not known and they are suspected to belong to Kerala. Police have registered a case.
