TOWN HEAVES A SIGH A RELIEF

The merchant class which was perturbed by the governments decision to take the high way from the centre of Madikeri heaves a sigh of relief with a change made in the original plan.

Mrs Monti Ganesh, member of the CMC, who was fighting for the cause stated that the originally planned highway is being considered as the By Pass road.

Formation of highway from the centre of the town meant erasing 90% of business establishments. Built in Easter years the topography of the town is such that there is any land left behind many shops and houses.
