MEDICAL STUDENT ENDS LIFE
A medical student at the Dental College Virajpet ended life
by committing suicide yesterday. Padmalatha, 19 hailing from Kudremukh was found hanging from
the ceiling, using her vale inside the hostel. Police recovered a chit from the room which read that she is
committing suicide as her friends are suspicious of her. But she did not name
any one. Police have registered a case. VILLAGERS STAGE PROTEST
Residents Of about a dozen villages around Byadagottu Mandal
Panchayat staged a protest yesterday demanding reduction of tax and providing
basic facilities. Gheraoing the office
building led by different organisations, the protestors demanded immediate
reduction of taxes, transparency in choosing beneficiaries, supplying drinking
water e and appointing a secretary . SHANTAPPA DEMANDS ACTION
The state general secretary of Janata Dal, Mr.K.B.Shantappa
demanded that the government grants permission to cut trees to the land owners
in Kodagu. Meeting the chief minister, Mr.Shantappa submitted a memorandum demanding solution to multiple problems being faced by agriculturists. He also appealed to reverse the recent government order claiming ownership of Jamma lands. |
