HOMELESS TO GET HOME

Additional secretary of revenue and secretary in charge of Kodagu district, Mrs.M.V.Jayanthi told this correspondent that the victims of rainfall in Kodagu, who have lost their houses, would be provided with houses and the government is committed to it.

In an informal chat with this correspondent in Bangalore, Mrs.Jayanthi said that the reports of loss to the victims are being verified and funds are already allotted to it. She also said that facilities to the Ashraya houses at Madikeri built under Rajiv Gandhi Rural development would be provided. A matching grant of rupees seven lakh towards this and the City Municipal Council has to bear the remaining seven lakh.

Mrs Jayanthi stated that the rain damages at Kodagu would be weighed by the government together with the damages suffered by other districts of the state and funds would be decided later.
