SAINIK SCHOOL TO KODAGU; WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO SAY?

Lt.General B.C.Nanda ( Retd)

"I am delighted to hear this news.  At last the government has sanctioned a sainik school to Kodagu which has perhaps produced highest number of sainiks from Karnataka. Next comes Belgaum."

"It is all very well that the district is given a school. But its real benefit depends upon the preference they give to lads from Kodagu. Concession should be given to local boys."

Air Marshal K.M.Cariappa ( Retd.)

"It was promised long ago and it’s a long over due. However it’s happy news. I only hope that its open to young men from Kodagu and they will join in large number. Kodagu is known as a Nursery for armed forces. It also depends upon the curriculums available in the school. Let the school become a stepping stone for the youngsters to enter armed forces."

Yet, there is a huge gap between the announces and their implementation. Only time will tell, when the promise turns into reality."

Lt.Col. C.N.Cariappa(retd.)

"Major percentage of entry to Sainik School should be reserved for Kodavas. A benevolent institution should be identified to assist rural, poor Kodavas who wish to send their boys to the school. Students should be trained to handle high tech equipments that the armed forces user today."

Wing Commander Subji Kumar (Retd.)

"It's delighting to hear this news. It’s an honour conferred on the district. Let the young lads from Kodagu get benefited by this."
