CAUVERY AUTHORITY REFORMED

The dissolved Cauvery Authority is reformed with the Chief Minister Mr.Dharam Sing as its chairman.

In a meeting held at Bangalore yesterday, water resource minister Mr.Mallikarjuna Kharge is nominated as the vice president. Director of the Cauvery Water development board, Mr.Thimmegowda is nominated as the secretatary. The three MLAs from Kodagu, Mr.B.A.Jivijaya, Mr.K.G.Bopaiah and Mr.Basavaraju, MLCs Mr.Arun Machaiah, MP Mr.Sadananda Gowda, Chief engineer, retired, Mr.T.D.Manmohan will be the members.

The authority will continue the rejuvenation works of temples in Talacauvery and Bhagamandala and other developmental works. The then chief minister Mr.S.M.Krishna had sanctioned rupees 10.5 crores for the development which is now vouched by the present government. Addressing the meeting, Mr.Kharge said that the govt is committed to develop Talacauvery and the works will be taken up immediately.
