CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION DOWNS SHUTTERS

The contractors co operative bank, opened with a share of 500 persons in Kodagu has pulled down shutters throwing depositors, share holders and account holders in quandary. The bank has reportedly raised a deposit to the tune of rupees one crore. The bank, which is a branch of the State contractor’s bank, has stopped its transactions from this February.

The reserve Bank has appointed a liquidator. The depositors are seeking solution through politicians and are requesting the Reserve Bank to pay back at least the current account balances at the outset.

LABOURER BUTCHERED TO DEATH

In a gory incident, a labourer was butchered to death yesterday by a couple at Andagove village near Sunticoppa.

According to police, Sanna 45 and his wife Gowri, 35 butchered to death their colleague Kunja with bill hooks over a matter of sharing pork. Kunja believed to have attacked the couple with a plough that retaliated with billhooks. Kunjas limbs were separated and strewn all over with more than 18 cuts. His body parts were dragged to the road and thrown. However, alerted by the sons of the deceased, the accused were taken to custody by the police around midnight and sent to judicial custody.

Police stated that the trio was drunk at the time of the incident.

AND SHE BIT HIS GENITAL

Garige and Mutta were married for seven years and known for drunken brawl by their neighbors.

The incident turned to worst yesterday midnight at Kolatodu village as their neighbors heard the sounds of blows and battle ending with a shriek. Mutta barged out of his house crying for help. He was profusely bleeding with a part almost detached in the genital area. Mutta was immediately shifted to the hospital.

Police said that the drunken couple picked up quarrel before going to bed. Wife Garge got up around midnight and shocked her husband by taking his genital between her teeth. Mutta nearly fell unconscious before she pulled away after he beat her.

Police registered a case and are looking for Garige. Mutta is out of danger, the doctors said.
