MLA PAYS SURPRISE VISIT

MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah yesterday paid surprise visit to district hospital and a work spot.

Visiting the hospital along with his supporters, Mr.Bopaiah discovered that the Mobile Eye unit is not functioning since a year. He ordered the authorities to re introduce the service without any delay. He instructed them to repair the unit vehicle which is under repair. He also lambasted the staff to have stored Bread in a unhygienic condition and advised them to take care.

Later he inspected the work of concrete road which is in progress. He verified the low grade sand being used and advised the contractor to change it.

CNC APPEALS TO PM

The Codava National Council has appealed to Prime Minister for a self respected Home Land, Constitutional special guarantee for Kodavas, Inclusion of Kodava language in 8th schedule.

The secretary general of the CNC, Mr.N.U.Nachappa has briefed the PM the history of Kodagu’s status as C state during 1956 before the amalgamation with state of Karnataka, in his appeal.

Since the Common Minimum Programme as envisaged by the United progressive Alliance govt. incorporate the wish to respond and respect the demands of the minority groups, Nachappa has opined that Kodagu has all the unique features to be considered under above programme and lifted to the earlier stature.
