BELIEVE IT; THIS PADDY IS 400 YEAR OLD!

Chittiappa Naika was ruling Kiggatnad area in Kodagu, 400 years ago. His house along with the store house of paddy was burnt by his rivals, Machangada Chittiappa and Mukkatira Nayaka. The whole family, except a child was charred to death.

Now, as part of a project, Kodava Academy was digging the ground at that spot and recovered bags of paddy inside the soil! Believe it, the rice grains inside the paddy were in tact and its aroma still persists!

The grains are now sent to archeology department.
