GANG OF YOUTH LOOT REVOLVER
Police yesterday nabbed a gang of youth from Chitradurga and
recovered a revolver robbed from a vehicle, here. A gang of seven, including the son of an assistant sub
inspector at Chitrdurga forcibly lifted a purse containing a revolver by
threatening the driver at Sudarshan guest house yesterday evening and fled in their hired, Maruthi Versa car. Sixteen kilometers from Madikeri, Sunticoppa police stopped
the car and rounded the gang. While two persons absconded, five others were
arrested. The vehicle was also seized. The six cartridges 12 bore revolver
belonged to one Suja Kushalappa, brother of Appachu Ranjan, former MLA.
Incident took place as Ranjan was meeting his friends along with his two
brothers inside Sudarshan guest house by parking their vehicles outside. The
accused persons who had gone their in search of a room noticed the purse inside
the parked vehicle. However, they stated that they anticipated the purse to
contain cash. A case of robbery was booked and the accused are remanded to judicial custody. |
