NANAIAH TO CONTINUE THIRD FRONT EFFORT

 

MLC, Mr.M.C.Nanaiah, whose term ends on May 13 has ruled out joining congress party and said that he will continue his effort to strengthen third front, an alternative to Congress and BJP.

 

In an exclusive interview, he said that a strong third front is going to emerge after the present elections in the national level and he will lend his strong support to it.

 

Mr.Nanaiah, who entered politics at 28 and lost in the elections during 1967, has spent four decades in politics. He functioned as the deputy leader of the opposition, leader of the opposition and as a minister under various chief ministers.

 

Stating that he enjoyed most the position of the opposition leader than the post of minister, he recalled memorable events that he tackled like Telephone tapping case of Ramakrishna Hedge being raised by the then Chief Minister Mr.Nijalingappa, Classic computer scam of the former chief minister Mr. Bangarappa, land grabing by Minister Mr.Basavalingappa, breach of previlege motion against Minister Sandra and so on. He opined that the positions in politics came to him without asking inspite of weak caste or financial backgrounds.

 

CLUBBED TO DEATH

 

Paramesh, 42 of Kalkandur village in Somwarpet taluk was done to death by his own brother in law, yesterday.

 

According to police, his own relative, Kanakaraj brutally attacked him with a club and killed him on the spot over a property dispute. Accused is absconding.

 

KILLED IN GUNSHOT

 

Machamada Subramani, 23 was killed on the spot as a gun he was holding opened accidentally at Tavalageri village in south Kodagu. According to a source the deceased was on a hunting walk.

 

DEMISE

 

Mrs.Gangamma,75, wife of Chendira Medappa died at Begur village near Hudikeri, yesterday. She leaves six children.
