KODAGU ELECTION RESULTS

B A Jeevijaya of Congress has won from Somarpet Vidhanasabha constituency with 46560 Votes and by a lead of 2800 votes.

K G Bopayya of BJP has won from Madikeri Vidhanasabha constituency with 31610 Votes and by a lead of 8161 votes.

H D Basavaraju of BJP has won from Virajpet Vidhanasabha constituency with 35550 Votes and by a lead of 8060 votes.

D V Sadananda Gowda of BJP has won from Kodagu Mangalore Loka Sabha constituency with 383228 Votes and by a lead of 32314 votes.

FARMER COMMITTS SUICIDE

Unable to bear the loan burden, a farmer Dharmappa, 46, committed suicide at Koothi village near Somwarpet yesterday.

Dharmappa had fetched loan to buy a jeep and was unable to repay it. He leaves wife and two children.

CRICKET TOURNAMENT

A three day inter district under 15 cricket tournament has been organised by the Karnataka Cricket Board from 17^th to 19^th at Kodagu.

The district cricket association president Mr.Kumar Appachu told that teams from Kodagu, Mangalore and Udupi will play in Pollibetta TATA grounds. Meanwhile, under 17 tournaments would be held at Nehru Maidan, Mangalore from 18^th to 20^th.
