KODAGU ELECTION RESULTS

MOILY GOT LEAD IN 3 CONSTITUENCIES

The Ex. Chief Minister Mr. Veerappa Moily who lost to Mr. D.V.Sadananda Gowda of B.J.P in the Kodagu- Mangalore Parliamentary constituency has surprisingly got lead in 3 assembly segments out of 8 constituencies.

 

Mr. Moily got 4194 lead over the B.J.P canditade in Somwarpet assembly constituency. Another speciality is that  Moily also got more votes than Mr. B.A.Jeevijay  in the constituency who won from congress in the assembly elections. Moily  got 4 thousand votes more than Mr. Jeevijaya.

 

In another development although Mr. Moily got  more votes in Vitla constituency than the BJP candidate, Mr. K.M.Ibrahim of congress lost here in the assembly polls, as he got less vote than Mr. veerappa Moily. K.M.Ibrahim the sitting M.L.A got 59,859 votes and he lost to Mr. Padmanabha of BJP by a mere margin of 391 votes.

 

In Ullal constituency Mr. Moily got 16,000 lead over BJP candidate Sadananda Gowda. Mr. Moily even secured 8,600 votes more than the congress assembly candidate Mr. U.T Farid who won from the constituency.

 

In other assembly segments like Madikeri, Virajpet, Sulya, Puttur and Mangalore Mr. Sadananda Gowda secured more votes than Moily totaling the difference tally to 33,000 votes.

 

Surprisingly Mr. A.K.Subbaiah, the ex. M.L.C who contested from JDS lost his deposit. However he got highest votes in Madikeri assembly segment. He secured more than 14,000 votes in the constituency out of his total figure of 39,751. But In Mangalore segment he got the lowest votes of total 607 only.

 

 

THEFT OF PEPPER

 

Shanivarsanthe, May 14

 

10 bags of pepper was stolen after getting into the house of shri Devaraju of Kerehalli by thievesB U Mahesh, T N Chandrappa and Gunda. The same was recovered Shanivarsanthe police, from a culvert close here, where it was hidden by the thieves.
