FARMER COMMITTED SUICIDE Madikeri, May 22 A farmer committed suicide at Balagunda village, somvarpet taluk. B.C. Raju (46) is the victim. It is learnt, the diseased Raju had borrowed loan from Vijaya bank. The bank officials have sent the warrant through the court to recover the loan from Raju. The victim had hanged himself yesterday night. Police have registered a case. THALACAVERY RECORDED 20 INCHES OF RAINFALL Madikeri, May 22 This year till today, Talakavery , the birth place of river cauvery has recorded 20 inches of over all rain fall. In Madikeri taluk this year 13 inches of rain recorded at Virajpet Taluk the record shows 18 inches and at Somwarpet taluk it is 13 inches. At Harangi reservoir the water level has crossed 2800 feet and just short of 60 feets for filling up. The inflow in reservoir is 314 cusecs . The heavy rainfall in the district has taken away the life of Naduvattira Dalu the resident of B.Badaga village. He died on 18th may near cherambane Village when he was crossing the river. WOMAN ELECTROCUTED Madikeri, May 22 Sheela (38) wife of Govinda Gowda a labourer in the coffee estate of K.N. Lingaraju at Kodlipet was succumbed to electrocution she was applying manure in the coffee estate and she tried to lift an electric wire fallen on the ground. It is learnt the wire was disconnected on the poll and fallen on the ground. The sudden current circulation had killed the lady on the spot. The villagers protested against the Mescom officials who have then assured of immediately releasing Rs. 50,000 compensation to the diseased’s family. |
