OFFICIALS JEERED AND JARRED IN ZP MEET

 

The officials were jeered and jarred in the Zilla Panchayath meeting held here for their apathetic works, negligence and fear of misappropriation in administration and while taking up construction works.

 

MLC Mr. Arun Machaiah, MLAs’ Mr.H.D.Basavaraju, Mr.K.G.Bopaiah and few other members of the Zilla Panchayath pulled officials alleging that they are trying to replace teachers in residential school at Basavana Halli for no reason, sanctioned lakhs of rupees to a low quality work undertaken with regard to the crest GATE AT Chikli hole causing loss and danger and giving room for misappropriation. Officials were targeted along with the ZP chairperson Mrs.Chitra Ramesh as drought relief funds are not yet released. They were also thwarted as rupees 24 lakh meant for education department lapsed unused again due to negligence and irresponsible attitude.Mrs.Chitra Ramesh once said that officials are not listening to her.

 

Meanwhile, misappropriation reports appearing in a local newspaper  regarding Kooligagi Kaalu scheme rocked the meetin. CEO Mr.Budihal told that a committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner is formed to investigate the irregularity.

 

MP Mr.Sadananda Gowda, addressing press at Mangalore has urged the govt to conduct a CBI enquiry to investigate the matter.

 

 

BJP CAUTIONS BANKS

 

The district BJP has accused the National Banks of not implementing 5%  interest waiver proposed by the central government to coffee growers. Addressing a press conference, BJP president S.G.Medappa stated that the banks are exhibiting apathetic view towards coffee growers and a protest would be launched , if they fail to rectify their stand in fifteen days time.

 

 

KUVEMPU STATUe

 

A statue of National poet Kuvempu would be erected at Madikeri on this 29th. A communiqué from the Kalasagar Dance and Music academy stated that former chairperson of ZP, Mrs.Chandrakala Prasanna will unvbeil the statue and State Kannada Sahitya Parishath president Mr.Harikrishna Punarur will inaugurate the Vishwamanava garden.

 

Renowned artist Master Hirannaiah, K.Ramesh, G.Chidvilas, Saleha and other artists would be honored on this occasion. And the founder of Bharatiya Sangita Nritya academy, Late Ambale Subba Rao would be conferred with a posthumous certificate.
