CMC BUDGET POSTPONED

The proposed budget by the CMC president yesterday had to be with held as the members of the ruling party themselves protested saying that they were not consulted while preparing it. Chairperson Mrs.Kaveramma Somanna failed to convince the members and the meeting was postponed. Strong protests were witnessed as the members questioned why the meeting was not called since four months. President replied that the election and its code of conducts blocked their efforts to call meeting.

PANCHAYATH MEMBERS STEP DOWN

Two members of the Virajpet Town Panchayath yesterday stepped down from the board alleging that they cannot deliver service to the society. The two members Mr.M.K.Poovaiah and Mrs.Chandrakala stated that the inefficiency of the Town Panchayath has reached an irrepairable position. They also said that they are resigning listening to the call given by Nagarika Samithy which has asked all the elected members to resign since little is being done by the TP for the society. Nagarika Samithy has been organising chain of protests against the president of the TP Mr.Vijayachandra and demanding his resignation alleging inefficiency.
