COD ENQUIRY ON FAKE CERTIFICATES

 

The district in charge minister Mr.Tanvir Sait has said that the matter of distribution of fake certificates by the revenue department at Somwarpet would be handed over to the COI.

 

The minister’s reaction came as ZP and TP members raised the issue which was investigated by a local newspaper. He was reviewing the Taluk development at Somwarpet yesterday.

 

Hundreds of fake land certificates were distributed by the department with the hand in glove of Tahasildars since years. The beneficiaries, who acquired these certificates, were given houses under Ashraya and Rojgar schemes, loans were distributed by banks. Lakhs of rupees was plundered through this scam.

 

The minister directed the Assistant Commissioner to submit a detailed report to him in fifteen days time.

 

 

TEERTODBBAVA ON OCT 17TH

 

A communiqué from the Deputy Commissioners office said that the holy Teertodbava will take place at Talacauvery on October 17th at 1.36 P.M.

 

While the district administration has held preliminary meetings to ensure safe and peaceful festival, rituals would begin from 26th of this month.

 

 

CONTEMPT BY SUBAIAH ALLEGED

 

Senior Advocate and a leader of Veera Sheiva community, Mr.Chennabasappa yesterday alleged that former MLC Mr.A.K.Subbaiah has committed contempt of court in the issue of land dispute between a family and Kannada Mutt at Ammathi.

 

Reacting strongly to the actions of calling press meet and accusing officials and humiliating a community when the case is still in court, the advocate said that he will file a contempt case against Mr.Subbaiah. it was an act of frustration and provocation, he opined.

 

The advocate told in the press conference that the Mutt headed by Deshikendra Swamy clearly enjoys the right over the land in question and the court has ordered to maintain status quo.  However complaints were lodged against Swamiji as he entered the land along with his followers.

 

 

28  LAKH ILLITERATES IN STATE

 

Member of the Parliament Mr.Sadananda Gowda told that the state still has 28 lakh illiterates and the negligence by the government is its cause.

 

Receiving honour at Hudikeri, he said that the society is attracted towards English studies than Kannada. Reacting to the continued problem of Coffee industry, Mr.Gowda said that the party will resort to serious agitations if the governments fail to address the problems by November end.

 

MLA Mr.Basavaraju, BJP president Mr.S.G.Medappa, Bose Devaiah and others were present.

 

 

J.A.KARUMBAIAH QUITS

 

President of the district Janata Dal, Mr.J.A.Karumbaiah has submitted resignation to his post.

 

He sent his resignation to the state president Mr.N.Tippanna. Changing political pictures have made him quit the post, he has said.
