GOVT SANCTIONS RUPEES 10.5 LAKH FOR DASARA
The government has sabctioned rupees 10.5 lakhs for the
celebration of Dasara at Madikeri The Member of the Legislative Assembly, Mr.K.G.Bopaiah
informed over telephone that the
district in charge minister Mr.Tanvir Sait has assured to release the above amount. Mr.Bopaiah said that he
mwt the minister in Bangalore. He also said that the Chief Minister has agreed to release
rupees two crore for the rain damage at the earliest out of the proposed four
crores. Meanwhile, rupees 10.7 crores of rupees meant for the
development of Talacauvery has also received approval and tenders are approved,
he said. CENTRAL TEAM VISITS RUBER ESTATES
A central team appointed by the Supreme Court visited
Kadamakal ang Poojimale rubber estates yesterday. The team headed by retired IAS officer Mr.Jayakrishnan
arrived here as a retired army officer has filed a Public Litigation. The rubber estates measuring thousands of acres was leased
by the then British governments To the companies on a 99 year contract with conditions. The
forest department recently evicted the
estate stating that the company has violated many conditions and payments were
also not made. However the high court returned the ownership to the companies. A public Litigation was filed questioning the developments
and the four member team visited the estates and listened to the claims of
estate owners and collected records. Today a meeting will be held at Madikeri where the team will meet forest officials and elected representatives. |
