FACE   LIFT   FOR PADI IGGUTAPPA   TEMPLE;

43 LAKH PROJECT PLANNED;

 

President of the Bhaktajana Sanga, Kalyatanda K.Muthappa  told that a project of rupees 43 lakh was formed to rejuvenate Iggutappa temple and develop the area.

 

Addressing a meeting at the temple premises yesterday he appealed to government and people to contribute whole heartedly to rejuvenate the temple held in high esteem by people of Kodagu. People here revere Iggutappa and Kavery as their ‘Kuladevatas’.

 

Presiding over the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner and chairman of the Mujarai committee, Mr.Srikanth Valgadh disclosed that Mrs.Prema Cariappa, MP, has released rupees ten lakh to build a community hall in the temple premises. He adviced the committee members to form a rejuvenation committee including the elected representatives.

 

 

ELECTIN TO KARNATAKA SANGA HELD;

 

Mr.Nanumanda Venu Machaiah has become the president of Karnataka Sangha, Virajpet.

 

In an election held to choose the office bearers yesterday, Tata Chengappa has become the vice president, Arun Appanna as secretary, Ranu Mandanna as joint secretary and Joyappa as treasurer were elected.

 

 

MURDER SUSPECTED;

 

Kushalnagar police have taken to custody, one Ravi suspecting him to have murdered his wife. According to police the decomposed body of his wife, Gowri was recovered from an estate and the villagers suspect a foul play. Gowri was missing from home since a week.
