GONICOPPA CLUB MOOTS NOVEL PROTEST;

 

Members of the South Coorg Club, Gonicoppal, led by its president Mr.C.D.Madappa yesterday laid a new path of protest against the Govt lathergy.

 

Dozens of members gathered in the town, raised money, gathered Tar, Sand and stones. Someone put fire and prepared tar mixed solution and started filling pot holes!

 

That was it. The town full of pot holes, courtesy, PWD,  wore a festive look with public repairing the road in protest!

 

We are fed up of appealing to the concerned to repair the roads, the protestors complained. President Mr.Madappa stated that they are serving an ultimatum to the department to repair the other roads by month end. Failure to which, they will resort to road blockade, he said.

 

 

KAVERI SENE RAIDS DEPARTMENT;

 

Kaveri Sene, an organization  formed with a slogan to protest ills in the govt functioning, yesterday  raided the Survey department and took to task the Deputy Director Mr.Sheshadri.

Led by its president, Ravi Chengappa, the members urged the officers to fill the vacant posts of surveyors  and clear the pending files lying in numbers.

 

The members exhibited to press the sketches of the district preserved in pathetic way and deteriorating condition.

 

 

BISON KILLERS FINED;

 

Three persons are prosecuted by Virajpet court to have killed a bison, way back in 2003.

 

Raghu, Kencha and Appa allegedly killed a bison inside the National park.

 

The judge declared 18 months imprisonment and a fine of rupees one thousand each.

 

 

ROSE WOOD SEIZED;

 

Forest department here seized a vehicle and arrested three persons transporting rose wood worth rupees fifty thousand.

 

RFO Mr.Chinnappa said that the trio, Prakash, Sufi and Razak stole rose wood from an estate at Mekeri and were transporting it in an ambassador car towards Mysore.
