FOUNDATION LAID FOR SULABH SHOUCHALAY

MLA Mr.K.G.Bopaiah yesterday laid foundation stones for three Sulabh Shouchalays in the town.

Mr.Bopaiah called upon the people to make use of the Shouchalays being built and maintained by Sulabh Shouchalay International organisation. It’s a project mooted by tourism department to develop tourism industry in the district.

The City Municipal Council commissioner Mr. Ramdas, journalist Mr.G.Chidvilas spoke on the occasion and briefed the audience about the benefits of the project. They stated that a project of rupees fifty lakhs is in the offing to improve Harangi reservoir at Kushalnagar. Of this the tourism department has allotted forty lakhs and a request was made with the district in charge minister to sanction rupees ten lakhs.

Vice president of the Shouchalay organisation Mr.Vishwanath stated that their organisation has opened 7000 Shouchalays in the Nation since 1970. Its maintaining 275 Shouchalays in the state, he disclosed. One more Shouchalay would be installed at Abbe Falls, the tourist center here, he said.

Coun cillors Mr.Sajil Krishna, Mr.C.K.Balakrishna, BJP general secretary Mr.Sunil Subramani were present.

“SHOOTING” CREATS RUCKUS;

Shooting of a Kannada movie in the government hospital created ruckus yesterday as large number of patients were put to great inconvenience.

Cauvery Sene convenor Mr.Ravi Chengappa and others staged a protest in front of the hospital and succeeded in stopping shooting. The district surgeon Dr.Palekar said that the shooting was on since three days with the permission taken from the district in charge minister.

PROTEST MARCH;

Cauvery Sene and different organisations will hold a protest march in south Kodagu on this 10th against Barapole project, Mr.Ravichengappa said.

He was addressing the public after inaugurating a branch at Srimangala.

He disclosed that they will march from Kutta to Virajpet, covering 50 kilometers opposing the project and demanding its cancellation.
