HOUSEWIFE HANGS TO DEATH WITH LOVER;A housewife belonging to tribes’ community committed suicide by hanging along with her aficionado. The incident was reported from Thithimathi in South kodagu, yesterday. According to police ,Kali, 38, committed suicide by hanging along with her lover, P.A.Choma,24. The couple went to the extreme of killing themselves as Kali was questioned by her in laws about the illicit relationship with the boy, inspite of her having two grown up children. BARAPOLE MARCH BEGINS;The Cauvery Sene members began their 60-kilometer walk from Kutta against the Barapole hydel project, yesterday. Mr.Palekanda Aiyanna of Nirmala Kodagu organisation flagged off the March. The protestors led by Mr.Ravi Chengappa, A.C.Subbaiah, Raghu Machaiah and others addressed public gatherings in town they were crossing by foot. He had to with draw from the meeting hall in police protection as Cauvery Sene raised strong objection to the meeting. NANDA FOR FOOT BALL ASSOCIATION;Mr.Paikera Nanda is elected as the president of Kodagu Foot ball association. Sameer Ahmad is elected as the secretary, P.K.Jagadish as treasurer Mr.Nanda told in a press conference that the association will hold a state level foot ball tournament in association with Blue Boys association of Sunticoppa in memory of D.Shivappa on this 24th. A league match will also be organised at Madikeri during October, he said. Apart from this the association has plans to conduct coaching camp for children. INTER STATE POLICE MEET;A high level inter state meet is organised at Kasargod on this 16 to discuss measures to tackle crime. According to police officers, SPs of Kodagu, Kannanore, Kasargod, Mangalore and other bordering districts will meet and discuss measures to stop inter state crimes.
