CHEATING OF RS.5 CROREA native of Kerala has cheated about Rs. 5 crore to a multinational company, Singapore and has absconded with his wife and children. The incident has been reported from Gonikoppal.Tony Joseph a native of Kerala State had settled at Ammathi, South Kodagu.He made an agreement with Singapore based U.E.Trading Corporation India Ltd, Dickkonson Road, Bangalore to purchase coffee under his firm East West Coffee Curing Works, established at Gonikoppal Thithimathi Main Road. He assured UE trading management of purchasing coffee from the Kodagu growers and sending them directly to UE trading , Bangalore. On the pretext, he had taken advance of more than Rs. 5 crores from the company to pay for the growers, When the UE Company manager recently visited Kodagu Tony Joseph showed the Coffee collected from the growers which was physically stored in his godowns at Ammathi and, Gonikoppal. Believing the person the company had released crores of rupees from the bank. During last week when the company management tried to contact Tony Joseph, his phone was not working. When they rushed to Kodagu they found the person missing along with all the coffee stocks he had. Ashok, the branch Manager at Bangalore of the U.E.Cmpany had contacted his senior central officer Rajiv. The company manger has given separate complaints to Virajpet town, Virajpet Rural and Gonikoppal station police stations. The police have registered theft case against the accused Tony Joseph. The complaint shows more than 4 crore 35 lakhs worth coffee from the godowns. The accused had fled away with his wife Rozi who was a teacher in a school at Ammathi and also his two children. Police have moved towards Idukki, , a place at Kerala which is the native of the accused. |
