AMBARISH MAKES POLITICAL TRIP?

Member of the Parliament Mr.Ambarish reportedly toured Kodagu and met congress leaders in a secret mission.

Mr.Ambarishs tour is hinting at a change in KPCC presidentship, the elderly congress leaders suspect. He reportedly spent two nights here and held discussions with Mr.Mittu Chengappa, KPCC general secretary and others and others. Mr.Ambarish has also met congress leaders at Mysore and Mandya.

Now it’s a known secret that Mr.Ambarish is a favorite for the prime post of KPCC. Much heat and dust is being raised in Karnataka congress to woo the vokkaligas, who cannot find a competitive leader from their community after Mr.S.M.Krishna who s base is shifted to Maharashtra as a Governor. Vokkligas are finding Mr.Ambarish as the last solace to equal Mr.Devegowda who is popular among Vokkligas. Leaders running behind Ambarish have to wait and see the outcome.

MYSORE LAD KILLED AT DUBARE;

A youth from Mysore died at Dubare, caught in a whirlpool yesterday.

Bhaskar, 21 had come to Dubare in a bus along with his 29 other colleagues from ICICI, Bank, Mysore for sight seeing. He was caught in a whirlpool at Cauvery River flowing at Dubare and died on the spot. His body was frisked away with the help of private boats.

The body was shifted to Mysore.

STATE LEVEL FOOTBALL;

The district football association and Blue Boys association, Sunticoppa floated a statelevel foot ball tournament from yesterday.

President of the football association, Mr.Paikera Nanda inaugurated the tournment by unfurling the flag.

The teams of Murnad New Friends and Blue Boys , Sunticoppa played the inaugural match. Mr.Lokesh Kumar inaugurated the match by kicking at the ball.

Blue boys clinched the show with easy 3 goals against New friends team.

Lack of participation from teams and people delayed the opening.

FASTEST GOAL IN BIDDANDA CUP HOCKEY;

Mr.Appachu of Pattada team set a record by hitting the first goal against Vanchira team in Biddanda hockey festival yesterday at Madikeri.

His goal came in the 24th second at the start of the game, yesterday. Pattada team beat Vancherira with 6 – 1.

Konerira and Sullimada family teams entered the ground on the tenth day of the tournament, yesterday.
