COMMUNALISM POSING DANGER TO NATION;

Communalism is posing danger to the stability of the Nation, said Shivkumara swamy of Siddaganga Mutt,Tumkur.

Inaugurating a thirty lakh Anubhava Mantap donated by one Mrs.Madamma at Madikeri yesterday, Swamiji said that the tentacles of politics in every field has swallowed the great dreams of freedom fighters. Advising the politicians to follow the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi, he observed that selfishness is clouding the qualities of equality and humility in human beings.

Presiding over the function, Swamy Deshikendra of Suttur Mutt said that life without Spirituality is dry and meaningless.

Addressing the gathering, former minister Mr.M.C.Nanaiah called upon the Mutts to provide free education, as education should not be sold. He urged people to fight casteism. MLA from Binnipet, Mr.Somanna stated that Veerashiva organizations are contributing more to the society than any other government.

Swamijis from different Mutts had gathered. Advocate Shivkumar welcomed the gathering and Mr.Manjunath proposed vote of thanks.

JURNOS TO PROTEST

The district journalists association is staging a protest before the Information and Publicity department here, tomorrow.

The association is holding the protest charging irregularities in the department.

SHANKARMURTHY URGES FOR SPECIAL PACKAGE;

The opposition leader Mr.Shankara Murthy urged the government to sanction the promised special package to Kodagu.

Addressing scribes during a private visit here yesterday, Mr.Shankarmurthy said that the state government is economically becoming weak and is surviving only through slogans.

He alleged that the law and order in the state is deteriorating, posing danger to stability. He also urged the government to immediately arrest Naxalite supporter Mr.Gaddar who had threatened the government that they will be replied through gun.

Mr.Shankarmurthy opposed the government’s move to build power project at Barapole and said it should be cancelled.
