COUPLE ATTEMPT KILLING A WOMAN;Police registered a case of unlawful custody and attempt to murder against a couple living at Arvatoklu village. According to complaint, Mrs. Sharada was forcefully dragged to the house of one Uthappa and his wife Rani. The couple later stripped the woman and bit her all over the body by covering her mouth with a cloth and tying her hands. The wife even encouraged her husband to molest the lady, the complaint says. Police who acted on the complaint of her husband rescued the profusely bleeding woman Police have registered a case. MLA Mr.B.A.Jivijaya visited the victim’s house yesterday and ordered the police to take immediate action against the couple. CHILD RUNS OVER;A four-year-old baby, Bhumika was run over by a school bus yesterday at Virajpet. The baby girl met with the accident as her parents were helping their elder daughter climb the school bus. The baby had gone under the bus when it was stopped. She died on the spot as it moved. The police have arrested the driver. 77 % POLLING AT PALUR;The Palur panchayath election registered 77% polling in the election held yesterday. The election here was postponed as a candidates symbol was erroneously printed in the ballot. LADY COMMITTS SUICIDE;A HOUSE WIFE Bhagya, 35, committed suicide by setting herself ablaze at Chittur village near Shanivarsanthe. According to police the dead body was found in the midst of burning hay stock. Her husband stated that she must have set herself ablaze inside the house and ran towards the hay stock in pain. Bhagyas family sources suspect the cause of death and police have agreed to investigate the case. |
