NATIONAL LEVEL MARATHON;

A National level marathon race is organized from Madikeri to Bhagamandala, a length of 42.2 KMs on this 8th.

Addressing a press meet here, chairman of the Cauvery Pre University college, Bhagamandala Mr.Panathale Vishwanath and chairman of the event Mr.Devaiah informed that the race being conducted since 12 years includes rupees thirty thousand for the men’s winner and fifteen thousand for the lady winner. Rupees five thousand would be presented to students, including a total of six prizes and trophies.

While men have to tread 42.2 KMs. Ladies have to cover 21 Kms. The organizers disclosed that champions from allover the country will take part in the race. Over three hundred participants took part in the event, last year. Efforts are on to get government recognition for the marathon run, the organizers said.

COMMITTS SUICIDE;

Former member of the MUDA and Town Congress joint secretary Mr.Sanavulla, 37 committed suicide yesterday by consuming metacid at Madikeri. Disgust in life is the reason for suicide, police said. He leaves wife and son.

DUNDIRAJ ENTHRALS AUDIENCE;

Banker and a known Kannada limerick specialist Mr.H.Dundiraj yeterday enthralled the audience through his talk at Virajpet.

Addressing the Chintana Goshti function organized at Arameri Kalancheri Mutt, Mr.Dundiraj threw audience into waves of laughter, which dealt on the subjects of Banking, corruption, Romance, Marriage and others with a touch of humor in them. He said that life becomes lighter when one learns to see humor in day-to-day happenings around them. Arameri Swamiji, addressing the gathering said that humour is like a jewel in ones life.
