‘KAADU PAAPA’ CAUGHT;

A Slender Lawris, ( Kaadu Paapa) was caught in a coffee estate in Kodagu. A youth Kishore bumped against this when he was plucking coffee. His father Suresh stated that he is prepared to hand it over to forest department, if they wish to do so. Presently it is running round with him.


MURDERS WIFE;

Police arrested one Basava on charges of murder yesterday along with his relative.

According to police, Basava brutally done to death his 32-year-old wife Bhagya yesterday, beating her with firewood. The deceased is the fourth wife of Basava who picked up quarrel with her yesterday suspecting her fidelity. Basava and a relative Nagesh beat attacked her together, according to police.

CENSUS FOR RATION;

The department of food and civil supplies would be conducting fresh census to provide ration to the people under various schemes.

According to officials, around 1.3 lakh houses would be visited for census and they have appealed to public to cooperate.

The people falling under below poverty line would be given BPL card. Singles aged above 6 would be given 10 KGs of rice under Annapoorna scheme. Poor will get Wheat at rupees 2 per kilo and rice at rupees 3 per kilo. They can avail food grains upto 3 kilograms per month.

JAUNDICE SPREADING AT VIRAJPET;

The citizens living in and around Virajpet are terrified with the outbreak of Jaundice.

While 23 patients have been hospitalized, more than five hundred patients were treated by private nursing homes. People are running unto Kerala for traditional medicine, which is normally prescribed for Jaundice.

The outbreak of the disease is suspected to have spread through impure water. The local doctor Mr.Shivram suspects that using tap water could be the main reason for the decease. He however said that people are being asked to use only boiled water and to avoid eating on roadside.

The Town Panchayath has also called a meeting and said that the water would be sent to Mysore for check up. Precautionery measures have been taken and district officials are also informed about the decease, the Chief officer said.
