ELEPHANT OPERATION FROM TODAY;Forest department will commence elephant operation from today at Kodlipet region. Six trained elephants are being pressed into service to tackle the wild elephant menace in the bordering villages. Forest officials lead by ACFO Munegowda from Hassan has formed a team to carry out the operation. The team of elephants includes Gajendra, Bharata and Harsha along with Sriram, Arjun and Abhimanyu who have participated in Mysore Dasara. TP MEMBERS STAGE WALK OUT;The taluk Panchayath members staged a walk out from the meeting yesterday alleging insult by the officials. The member’s lead by Mrs.Jayanthi Shetty took to task the officials and said that they have not allowed the members to place no confidence motion against the president and vice president, in spite of their appeal. Unsatisfied by the answers and reaction by the officials and president the members walked away from the meeting hall. They alleged that no development is taking place through the panchayath since months and members are being ignored by bureaucrats. The officer in charge Mr.Motaiah convinced the members of suitable action and persuaded them to return to meeting. Later 38 sewing machines were distributed to beneficiaries. Mrs.P.B.Devaki presided over the meeting. |
