BOY DIED ON THE SPOT

A 6 year old boy died on the spot during a head on collision between a Maruthi Van (No.KA-O5 M 4843) and a private bus near Bethri Cauvery Bridge. The Van was driven by Harish Rai. A team of people from a bridegrooms side were traveling towards Ponnampet to bring the bride. The whole family was shocked with the incident when Somanna (6) son of Bollera Ganapathi of Kalkeri Nidugane village lost his breath when he was enjoying the sweet of the ice cream during the travel.

NAVAGRAHA PRATISHTAPANA

Navagraha Pratishtapana was held at the historical Sri Pete Ramamandira temple .Puttur Kehsava Kalluraya and Satyesh Bhat performed the rituals. Mr. K.G.Bopaiah, the M.LA. inaugurated the function. He assured the temple committee members with a word of financial assistance to the temple through M.L.A grant.

The elder committee member Mr. Yathirajulu Naidu , Vittal and his wife were being honoured. S.C.Subramani, the councillor, Mr. T.P.Ramesh, the president of Merchants Cooperative bank, and Mr. B.S.Suresh were the chief guests. Monika prayed, Gajarajulu Naidu welcomed , C.N.Somesh compered the programme and Thyagaraj conducted the vote of thanks.

BIDDANDA CUP SEMIFINALS

In The Biddanda Cup Kodava Hockey Festival at Madikeri fourteen teams entered semifinals today. Nellamakkada beat Cheppudira, Palanganda beat Konerira, Anjaparavanda beat Keletira and Koothanda beat Kotera teams and entered semifinals. Semi final matches will be played on 3rd and the finals will be played on 5th.
