ROBIN UTHAPPA FOR CRICKET TEAM;

A lad from Kodagu has been selected for national cricket team for the first time in the history.

Aiyyuda Robin Uthappa from nakur village near Sunticoppa has been selected for the team. Robin will play in the cricket series with England. He is replacing Gautam Gambir, sources said.

Robin has been playing in the below nineteen team of Asia Cup, junior world cup and other significant tournaments, representing India.

He is the son of Aiyyuda Venu Uthappa and Rozy.

VILLAGERS OPPOSE MINIG;

Villagers of Nangala near Virajpet have alleged that the district administration has ignored the directions of Air pollution board to stop mining and allowing a Kerala based business group to continue with the quarry work.

Advocate Ravindra and villagers have stated that they held a joint meeting with the Board at Mysore recently and the advocate from the Miners side was advised to stop the work immediately. He had contended that only testing was on and regular work was yet to begin. Wild Life Society president Col.Muthanna had contended that the work will endanger the life of Wild life in brahmagiri range.

The villagers have warned the district administration of severe protest, if no action is initiated at the earliest.

PANCHAYATH PRESIDENT RESIGNS;

President of the Somwarpet Town Panchayath Leela Nirvani has resigned to the post to facilitate another member of her party to continue.

The Assistant Commissioner who will announce the next date for election accepted her resignation. Leela Nirvani submitted resignation to obey the BJP order, which had elected her for the post of the president on condition.

Another member Usha Tejaswi will become the next president, if the opposition party, congress keeps mum. Though Congress does not enjoy majority, it can play up, BJP says.
