DOG SHOW AT MADIKERI;April 22, 2006 Karnataka veterinary association and Kodagu Kennel club have jointly organized a dog show at Madikeri on May 7. According to organizers, around two hundred dogs from 25 breeds will take part in the show. St Bernard, Dalmatian, German Shepherd, great Dane and other best bred dogs will add attraction to the show, according to the assistant Director of Animal Husbandry, Dr.Rajshekar. Different competitions are organized for the dogs that will receive prizes. Judges are arriving from Bangalore. FIRE BRIGADE TO GONICOPPAL;MLC Arun machaiah disclosed that a fire brigade unit would be opened at Gonicoppal. Talking to this correspondent, he said that the unit at a cost of rupees 79 lakhs would be started at Gonicoppal it will start functioning from the Gonicoppal Orange society yard temporarily and a building would be built at one-acre land being donated by a donor. HC ISSUES NOTICE TO GOVERNMENT;The Supreme Court has served a notice to government questioning why Kodava language is not being used in administration The general secretary of CNC, N.U.Nachappa said here that the state government had approved usage of Kodava language in administration during the regime of S.M.Krishna and reversed the ORDER AS Kannada activists raised clamor. CNC then moved the High Court questioning the government’s action during 2004. Accepting the case the court has now issued notice to state government. AMMUNICHANDA CRICKET FROM 29The seventh family cricket festival would begin from April 29 at Virajpet, according to organizers. Ammunichanda family will conduct the tournament at Pre University college grounds. Around 124 families have registered their names for the tournament, according to Ammunichanda Ravi uthappa, president of the family cricket festival. The winners will receive rupees ten thousand as cash prize, while the runners will get rupees five thousand. |
