DIARRHEA THREAT AT SHANIVARSANTHE;

Residents of Shanivarsanthe near Somwarpet fear that their children are being affected by Diarrhea..

The child specialist R.V.Chidanand told this correspondent that the children are suffering from continues purging and vomiting problem. He observed that the infection spreads due to high pollution of water in the area caused due to coffee pulping.

The district administration and health department is yet to comment on this.

JAUNDICE ALERT AT VIRAJPET;

The chief officer of Town Panchayath, Virajpet has urged the people to take precautionary measures to avoid jaundice.

He reminded the people that jaundice had struck the town last yeat due to water contamination and change of whether during the same season.

People are adviced to drink boiled water and hotels are advised to supply only hot water to drink.

THREE IS A CROWD!

Two snakes entwining together is a common scene. However, the residents of Kadiattur village near Madikeri were lucky to observe three snakes entwining to each other in a playful mood and stay together for a long time.

Kunjilana Prakash, at whose back yard the snakes were seen was a hero of the day, yesterday as people formed a serpentine queue to watch the scene.


VILLAGERS STOP SUB STANDARD WORK;

The villagers of Nellihudikeri blocked the roadwork by a contractor alleging sub standard work.

Taluk panchayth member Nalini Shankar and others thwarted the work on Nellihudikeri – Ontiangadi road yesterday and demanded quality work. They urged the officials to inspect the work and re do what was already done.

Panchayth member T.C.Ashok and others were also present.
