Betrothal ceremony of Cine actress Prema was held yesterday at Bangalore.

In a simple family get together held at Kodava Samaj in Bangalore, Neravanda Prema tied nuptial knot to Kotera Jeevan Appachu.Press, politicians and film personalities were kept at bay during the ceremony. The wedding will take place in the same premises on July 5th and 6th.

Jeevan Appachu, a resident of Kodagu is a software engineer running a software consultancy in Bangalore. Speaking to this correspondent over phone he said that Prema will continue to act in selected movies even after marriage. I have no objection to her acting, he clarified. He also disclosed a fact that he got introduced to prema through her sister, who is also a software engineer. Their friendship is ending with the marriage.

HOSTEL INMATES RETURN TO HOSPITAL;

Around 25 students including a nurse and three cooks were shifted to hospital yesterday night after the food poison symptoms repeated in the BCM hospital.

Inmates and cooks of BCM hostel, Maragod and a nurse were shifted to Madikeri hospital after they started complaining about stomachache and vomiting. District surgeon Dr.Palekar, child specialist Dr.Navin and others provided emergency treatment to the patients and told that food poisoning systems are not found on them. They stated that some students could have been suffering from mass hysteria and others from gastric or other problems.

Zilla Panchayath president Ashok Kumar, Taluk Panchayth president Kishore Kumar, CMC members and public visited the hospital in large number. The BCM officials have clarified that food poisoning is not detected in the ghee rice the inmates consumed three days ago.

It can be recalled that 29 students fell ill after consuming ghee rice and were hospitalized. While four students were hospitalized for four days, others were discharged after a day’s treatment.

HOCKEY ACADEMY ESTABLISHED;

A hockey academy was started in Kodagu under the guidance of national hockey player, goalkeeper, Baleyada Poonacha.

Kishan Poovaiah, Chummi Devaiah and Maccharanda Ganesh are elected as convenors of the academy. The convenors stated here that the acdemy will try to revive the hockey scenario in Kodagu and produce players of national repute. They will be given all round training and coaching by national players, they said.

A coaching camp would be conducted from march fourteen at Mann’s compound, Madikeri.
