AUTOPSY OF GERMAN,S BODY TODAY

Madikeri January 3

Autopsy of the body of the German who allegedly committed suicide at Kushalnagar would be conducted today at Mysore.

Body of Pazer Micheal Paul, 42 was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside a small lodge at Kushalnagar on December 25th. Informing this to the Home ministry, German embassy the District police sought their assistance to inform the incident to his relatives. The body was sent to K.R.hospital and kept in the cold storage, waiting for the arrival of relatives.

It is now eight days after his death. Since no relatives arrived till day, police said that the autopsy would be conducted today. Christian missionaries would be asked to conduct funeral. If no one comes police will do the job, said Kushalnagar DySP Jayaram.

Suspicion rocks the death of the German as police and the Lodge persons allegedly attacked him, since December 24th. They complained of his misbehavior and trying to attack. The lodge owner and his staff allegedly attacked him on the night of 24th. Later four constables who arrived at the lodge around 11 P.M again beat him as he protested against taking him to hospital. He was however bundled to police station and released after taking his cash and passport. He allegedly questioned the lodge people about the passport and cash the next day. The staff and the owner again roused his temper through light remarks. He was chased round the small building. He was even seen jumping down from the first floor where he stays to the tiled roof of the next building. This has happened at 9.30 P.M.

And at 10 P.M police receive a call from the Lodge stating that the German committed suicide by hanging inside his room no.18!

He hung from the ceiling climbing on to the cot. Distance between the cot and the

Ceiling can hardly claim the life, the onlookers say.

The Bhajaranga Dal unit of Kushalnagar has demanded CBI inquiry into the death of the German. They suspect the cause and the type of the death.

When contacted, DsySP Jayaram denied having beaten the German. But this correspondent who went to Mysore and took the picture from the cold storage saw bruises on his body. A proper inquiry and autopsy has to reveal the truth.
