COUPLE JUMP TO DEATH;

A young husband jumped to death along with his pregnant wife yesterday at yadur village in Somwarpet taluk.

According to police, Ravi, 27 and his wife Shalini 22 jumped to death into a lake in the estate and ended life, irritated by a remark made by his planter father A.T.Poovaiah.

They had consumed poison before jumping into the lake and had tied their hands together.

The couple got married only eight months ago and the wife was six months pregnant.

Police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, there are 154 suicide cases registered in Somwarpet in three years. Around 60 futile attempts were made.While 40% died unable to face the vagaries of fate, remaining deaths are reported due to invited troubles like over spending, lottery and disappointment in love.

SOLDIERS DIES;

Santosh Kumar, 24 serving in MIC a army unit has died at Koimbatore.

A native of Kodagu, Santosh was serving at Trivendrum. His body was found in railway platform at Coimbatore and the reason for his death is not known.

Deceased is the son of Nellira Bhimaiah of Birunani.
