MLA K.G.Bopaiah has instructed the officials to issue notice to such gram panchayaths which have not release grant amount to literacy programme.

Addressing district level literacy promoters meet her, he said that the central government has been releasing funds regularly to promote literacy education and the same is not being made use of.. He said that the instalments would be released only if the records are submitted regularly.

Meanwhile, the promoters who shared their plights with the MLA revealed that they are not paid their honorarium since 27 months and no other fund is being released even to pay the cost of news papers. Replying to this the adult education officer Shankaregowda said that the second installment of the grant amount would be released next month.

Bopaiah suggested that inactive centers should be closed and new ones should be started wherever it is necessary.

Its no gossip! Celebrated Kannada movie queen Prema will tie nuptial knot to a Kodava guy, according to sources.

A native of Kodagu , Neravanda Prema celebrated her birth day in her residence at Bangalore on January and decided to get married. While the betrothal ceremony will take place in the month of February, nuptial knot would be tied during September.

Prema has acted in more than 90 kannada movies so far.
