MAN –E EATER CREATES TENSION;Madikeri January 12, 2006 The man-eater, which ate up an old man in Nagarahole forest range two days ago , is creating tension in south Kodagu. People are angry with the forest officials who failed to protect the remains of the body as the tiger feasted over it again yesterday. Though police and forest sleuths kept a watch near the remains of the body on the ni9ght of the incident, the tiger re appeared when they were alsleep at night and feasted over the head that was left by it the previous night. Forest officials did not remove the body parts immediately waiting for mahazar. Officials said that only about three kilograms of flesh and bone belonging to devappa, 65 was recovered for cremation yesterday. Forest officials however stated that they have no proof to state that tiger itself ate Devappa. However, estate workers in two villages spotted tiger after the incident. Estate owners state that the workers are reluctant to return to work for the fear of attack by the tiger. HUSBAND BUTCHERS WIFE TO DEATH;A housewife was butchered to death by her husband at Karadigod village near Siddapur. According to police, Rajan a native of Kerala and settled down at Karadigod attacked his wife Minni, 30 with a dagger on the night of 10th under the influence of alcohol. Minni died at Madikeri hospital with multiple injuries and profuse bleeding. He was suspecting her fidelity. Rajan is absconding and Siddapur police have registered a case. STUDENT DEBARRED;Rafiq, a second PUC student was debarred from junior college, Sunticoppa on charges of assaulting a lecturer. The school authorities said that the student beat a lecturer as he questioned him about his indiscipline. A complaint lodged with the police was returned and the suspension was limited to twenty days due to political interference, according to school sources. |
