HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANISATION TOURS STATE;

Madikeri March 1

The Human Rights Organisation has been touring the nation to study different culture, said R.K.Dua, former chief justice and chairman of the organization.

Addressing a press conference here yesterday he said that 33 states in the nation would be toured to conduct a survey about the life style and culture in 200 days. Started in January, the tour will end on August 15, he said. He disclosed that the Karnataka study tour ended yesterday at Madikeri and Jayanthi R.Shetty is incharge of the state organization.

R.K.Dua stated that the central government is supporting the organization and will provide more teeth to it. Jayanthi R.Shetty and A.Hemanath Shetty were present.

BASAVARAJU FOR BJP NATIONAL COMMITTEE;

Local MLA H.D.Basavaraju is selected for the Nationla committee of Bharatiya Janatha Party, according to the party source.

Basavaraju is attending the national committee meeting to be held at new Delhi on 5th and sixth of March.

MUKUNDA AS GP PRESIDENT;

B.D.Mukunda has set a record by becoming the president of Gonicoppa gram Panchayath for the fourth time.

Mukunda was elected president and Sarasu as vice president in the election held at Gonicoppal yesterday.

Tahasildar Tulasi, acting as the election officer adviced the elected representatives to deliver efficient admistration.

PROHIBITION AROUND EXAM CENTRES;

The Deputy commissioner has promulgated prohibitory order under section 144 around 27 exam centers in the district.

Prohibition will be in force between 16th and 24th of march till the SSLC exams are over.
