It is a Godforsaken house called AC quarters situated at Madikeri!

It is five years since the up to date quarters was abandoned. Assistant Commissioner Tekraj was the last officer to stay here.

Though there is shortage of houses for the officials, who depend upon guest houses for their stay, higher ups are not bothered about the existence of this quarters.

Strangely enough, most of the higher officials stay around this house.

The residents living around this house allege that illegal activities takes place in this house after nightfall. Noises, screaming, girls crying could be heard her almost every night.

A city Municipal Council member Chummi Devaiah took this correspondent to the house yesterday. The stinking house is in ShamblA DUNGEON CALLED “AC QUARTERS”

es. Most of the AC sheets used for the car shed are stolen. The back door of the house is kept open. You shall find whisky and beer bottles thrown in every corner. In addition, used condom packets are spread aplenty.

The CMC member has urged the district administration to block illegal activities and re use the quarters.

RASTA ROKHO AGAINST BOMB BLAST;

Hindu organizations today held a rasta rokho to condemn Bomb attack at Varnasi, here.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bhajaranga Dal and other organizations blocked traffic for thirty minutes and held a public function.

VHP president K.S.Devaiah urged the government to provide security to Hindus and their worship places. Speakers condemned the attack and urged the government snub terrorist activities threatening the country.

FEDERATION AGAINST EMPLOYEES STRIKE;

Federation of Government Employees has condemned the decision of the association to hold strike today.

The state Federation has issued a press release and urged the government to initiate action against the employees taking part in the strike.

However, most of the government offices and education institutions wore an empty look with employees staying off duty.
