WIFE DONE TO BRUTAL DEATH; Madikeri March 15, 2006 An agriculturist has done to death his wife brutally and escaped from the scene at Chikkamandur near Srimangala. According to police, the body of Sarasu, a homemaker was discovered in a pool of blood in her house yesterday. They suspect her husband Chimmanamada C.Ganesh and said that he has chopped her head, shoulder and many parts of the body with a billhook and a club and done her to death probably on Monday. Ganesh’s brother Ramesh opened the closed doors of the house yesterday under suspicion and found that the body of his sister in law was sprawling in a pool of blood in her bedroom. Police stated that the couple was often indulging in squabbles and Ganesh was in jail for two months after he stabbed his wife, recently. The villagers who noticed footsteps near a river stated to police that Ganesh might have committed suicide after killing his wife. Swimming experts were brought yesterday to look for the body, but nothing came out. Police are investigating. PLANTERS SMILE AS COFFEE BLOSSOMS;Take a drive to Kodagu. (Picture of the coffee flower attached) EMERGENCY CMC MEET ENDS IN RUCKUS;An emergency meeting called by the administrator of the City Municipal Council yesterday evening ended in ruckus before taking off. The congress lambasted the administrator Abdul kayum for not calling the meeting immediately after they placed a requisition for the emergency meeting and took fifteen days to call. Verbal fighting broke between congress and BJP members as congress members charged BJP MLA K.G.Bopaiah who tried to defend the action of the administrator. The administrator cancelled the meeting as verbal attacks began with singular and unparliamentarily words. The congress members had urged the emergency meeting as a BJP member constructed her shop on the main road even when the matter pertaining to the demolition was in court. However, MLA K.G.Bopaiah, who is an advocate himself said that the re construction is legally done. Rs.626.84 CRORES CREDIT PLAN LAUNCHED; The president of the Zilla Panchayath, Ashok Kumar yesterday launched the Kodagu District Credit Plan for the year 2006 – 07 of rupees 626.84 in a function organized by Corporation bank, lead bank here. Abut 125 bank branches of 18 main banks would implement the credit plan prepared by the NABARD. The LDM Arun Kulkarni briefed the highlights of the DCP and said that the loan would be distributed to different sectors and the agriculture will share the main allotment of rupees 465.25 crores. John Diaz, chief manager of hassan corporation bank welcomed the gathering. AGM, NABARD, A.L.Kulkarni , officer nandakumar spoke on the occasion. Arun kumar proposed vote of thanks. |
