ZILLA PANCHAYATH TO PROBE MISAPPROPRIATION;

Waves of allegation about the misappropriations committed in many departments rocked the Zilla Panchayath meeting yesterday forcing the president to order probe.

Meeting presided over by the president Ashok Kumar witnessed hot debates between officials and members. Members who estimated the figures to cross rupees 56 lakhs pointed out Misappropriation in Forest, Horticulture, ITDP and Co operative departments. The president immediately order probe and cautioned the officials against irregularities in their departments.

The meeting also discussed in detail the pathetic condition of the Tribes living in Kodagu - Hassan border, as it was published in a section of the media. Member Shashidar produced a document to prove that the forest department had prepared five kinds of records pertaining to one spot to plunder money.

MLC Arun Machaiah, Kannada Kavalu Samiti members G.Chidvilas , T.P.Ramesh and others alerted the meeting about the irregularities.

Vice president B.C.Neelamma, CEO Sundar Naik was present on the dais.

MILITARY SCIENCE COURSE AT KUSHALNAGAR;

Military Science and BBM courses would be introduced at Kushalnagar first Grade College, disclosed MLA B.A.Jivijaya.

Addressing the college annual day, yesterday, he urged the students to make best use of the opportunities.

He regretted that the students excelling in their fields are rushing to Western Countries and said that money should not be the only criterion.

THREE SENTENCED FOR DACOITY;
