RESIDENTS BLOCK SALE OF FAKE MANURE;Madikeri April 12 Residents of Boikeri, six kilometers from here blocked a lorry and stopped sale of fake manure. In a complaint to police yesterday they alleged that a lorry loaded with fake manure was stopped by them. They stated that a manure racket is rampant in the district and farmers are being cheated. The manure put to water will turnout black in colour and taste salty. The suppliers are selling a bag at the rate of rupees 450 per bag. They have an offer to give ten bags of manure free to those who buy ten bags at a time! The residents have questioned how is it possible to give ten bags free per ten, if it is not fake. It can be recalled that police conducted series of raids a couple of months ago and indicted many manure shops and suppliers selling fake manure and pesticides. Police have taken the sample for testing and registered a case. CM TO INAUGURATE KUDIGE MILK DAIRY BENG RNOVATED;Decades old Milk Dairy at Kudige, owned by KMF, Hassan is being renovated at a cost of rupees three crores. The officials told this correspondent who went to the spot that the chief minister Kumar Swamy will inaugurate the renovated building. The dairy is renovated with modern facilities and increased capacities. The old machineries are replaced with the financial assistance by NDDB. The capacity is increased to fifty to seventy thousand liters. Production units of curds, Peda and other items are also modernized. Manager Chidambaramurthy informed that the chairman of the Hasssan Milk Federation and minister H.D.Revanna wishes to turn this dairy into a best one in the state. He also said that the number of Milk producers’ co operative societies in the district would be increased to produce and collect more quantity of milk will be increased from the present eighteen. The dairy also has plans to grow grazing grass in eight acres of land. GOWDA FAMILY FOOTBALL FROM MAY 7;President of the Gowda Yuth association, Roy Chinnappa told that the family football tournament would be held from May 7. Addressing a press conference here yesterday, he stated that about 65 family teams will take part in the six day tournament. He stated that the players include ladies also. He said that the tournament is being held for the second year in memory of Katratana danesh and will be held at maragodu grounds, near here. Madu Somanna, Jagadish mandappa Bolluru Dayakar and others were present. LADY COP SUSPENDED;A lady police constable, Kumari was suspended by Superintendent of police Ramachandra rao. Kumari was suspended as she was involved in illegal gas filling activity from her house. Food and Civil supplies inspectors had arrested her husband Dipak from her house at Virajpet, as he was caught red handed, filling gas to a vehicle. Residents of Somwarpet were surprised to about the incident as the illegal activity was going on in police quarters where all the officials and constables live. A criminal case is booked against Dipak and Kumari is under suspension. |
