RS. 30 LAKH WORTH MARIJUANA SEIZED

Madikeri Feb. 7 Rs. 30 lakh worth Marijuana (Ganja) plants found at Meghathalu Makkandur village near Madikeri. The Police and Revenue authorities have completely destroyed the grown plants. 6 persons belong to Kerala State have been arrested by the police. The plants were grown in the area belong to a person who is the ex. Z.P. member. He had given the land under lease contract basis.

The plants are two months old and would have ripened within further two months time for cutting.

The Madikeri Rural police who smelled the illegal growth conducted a team raid yesterday night. The team was led by the S.P. Ramachandra Rao ,DYSP HRS Shetty, Madikeri Rural SI Harishchandra.

Madikeri Taluk Thahasildar Satyanaryan managed the complete demolished of all the grown plants on the spot..

Some illegal weapons are seized from the accused. Separate case has been registered for illegal tree felling.
