KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA INVITES ENTRIES;

The Kendriya Vidyalaya will commence classes from April and entries are invited from students, according to Deputy Copmmissioner Subodh Yadav.

The DC said that the school will have only English and Hindi as first and second languages and will not teach Kannada. He opined that the school will accept children from the families of government officials, Elected representatives, their kith and kin, public on priority basis.

A five acre land is earmarked for the school at Karnangeri and funds are awaited to build the building. Own building will come up in two years. Presently the classes from one to five will be held at a building in the junior college premises. Main staff including the principal has already taken charge and entries are invited from March tenth.

TRIBES CELEBRATE VICTORY;

Tribes in Pollibetta area yesterday celebrated the Governments amendment to forest reservation and danced on the streets.

Men, women and children performed pooja at the Ganesha temple at Pollibetta and enjoyed Chini Dudi, Kolata, Kundekali and traditional dance and shouted “Biduvudilla taayinadu, biduvudilla Kaadina hakku”, Eddeth eddeth jenkunja eddeth”. ( We wouldn’t leave motherland, we will not give up forest rights. Jenukurubas have woke up)

G.K.Ramu, president of the Tribes organization spoke on the occasion and said that they have been enjoying the rights over forests since decades and they will not let it go. They also do not care for the cautions by false environmentalists who are trying to throw them from the forests, he said.

District Tribes association president J.P.raju stated that the government has given them tem acres of land inside the forest to cultivate. He opined that the forests remain today not due to the efforts of politicians and environmentalists and it is only the tribes who are protecting it.

Roy David, Kudiyara Muthappa, Dobi spoke on the occasion and said that they are now supreme and forest officials have to listen to them. They also appealed to tribes to protect flora and fauna.

A researcher from Finland, Vil Vaiko addressed the gathering and said that the forest officials here are not aware of the rights of the tribes. Roy David, Basavaiah, kalanna, belliappa, Puttanna and ramanna were felicitated during the occasion.

MAN GETS LIFER;

The fast track court here has slapped life sentence a man killing his wife.

It was alleged that ramesh alias Umesh stabbed a house wife Sundari to death at Attur Nallore estate near Sunticoppa on 5.12.05. Ramesh tried to snatch her jewels away while she was walking inside the estate. She stabbed her at neck and back as she protested. She fell dead on the spot and the accused fled the scene along with the jewels.

The judge has pronounced life sentence and a fine of rupees four thousand.
