TWO NAILS INSIDE A TWO YEAR OLD BABY!

In a “have to believe” incident, doctors here found two, two inch long nails inside the body of a two year old baby.

Parents brought the baby from a village near Kushalnagar to Madikeri. They complained that the baby is ill. Treatment by the local doctors their proved futile.

An X ray was taken at madikeri. The doctors were baffled to find two nails inside the body of the baby! One was settled inside the nose. Another was stored or stuck in the heart region! The parents were sent to Mangalore. The doctors peformed operation yesterday and removed the nail from the heart region. But they are worried about the other nail in the nose region. It will be removed in matter of days, they said. Baby is recovering.

Doctors have advised the parents to be careful while grooming their children and keep a watch about their activities.

ANCIENT PAINTINGS REVEALED;

Rejuvenation of Bhagamandala temple has given scope to trace old paintings.

The temple authorities noticed paintings dating back to atleast two hundred years, covered by paint. Temple in charge Sampath Kumar explained that the paintings depict the past glory of Bhagandeshwara temple which is three hundred years old.

The paintings were found inside the walls of sanctum sanctorum. The paintings also contain the stories of ‘Paashupatastra”, “Dashavatara” and others. They were covered by about three centimeters wall paint. They are carefully removed and the ancient painting would be preserved, according to Sampath Kumar.

FARMERS STAGE PROTEST;

Farmers at Shirangala , including students staged a protest at against the Cauvery verdict.

Farmers in large number gathered in the town and held a Rasta rokho. Traffic was hit for two hours. The leaders alleged that though Cauvery flows from Kodagu, the farmers here get no water for summer crops. They decided to intensify the protest, watching the developments.

S.S.Chandra Shekar, S.V.nanjundappa, S.K.Channabasappa, GP president M.K.Kalaiah and others were present.
